The three tracks we've heard from Coliseum's forthcoming Sister Faith -- "Black Magic Punks," "Doing Time," and now "Fuzzbang" -- suggest the band's new LP has a good chance of being their very best. "Fuzzbang" feels a bit more subdued than the two songs that preceded it; it's at a lower boil than those two firestarters, but make no mistake, it's still hot enough to burn. In my writeup of "Doing Time," I mentioned the similarities between that song and the music created by Sister Faith's producer, J. Robbins, with his old band Jawbox, but that connection is even more explicit on "Fuzzbang." I also hear some Sonic Youth in the guitars here, some Rocket From The Crypt in the vocals ... basically little bits of all that is good in the world. Listen.
