La Blogotheque's "Take Away Shows" video series are a Dogme 95-style thing in which bands perform entirely acoustic in unexpected French locations, with no effects to sweeten the performance. That's exactly the sort of set of restraints that would appeal to an old-school fetishist like Jack White, the subject of the latest installment. In his Take Away Show, White and his band play acoustic versions of the White Stripes classic "The Same Boy You've Always Known" and his more-recent Lazaretto tune "Entitlement" on the grounds of a grand, musty, beautiful French chateau. Both songs get roots-folk arrangements, and White's voice sounds spectacular on both. His dramatic entrance is fun, too. Watch the video below.
