Your Old Droog – “Hidden Persuaders”

Your Old Droog

Your Old Droog

Brooklyn '90s-rap revivalist Your Old Droog is a man who sounds so much like Illmatic-era Nas that people online were convinced he really was Nas for a few months. He came back earlier this year with the goofy but intermittently great rock-themed mixtape Kinison, and now he's got a new track called "Hidden Persuaders" floating around in the internet ether. On "Hidden Persuaders," Droog goes into slow-rolling confident punchline mode: "Still spitting butane on the Q train, fresh from the Ukraine." At four minutes, it's a lot longer than most Droog songs, and it maintains its strut. Listen to it below.
