At SXSW back in March, Spoon's Britt Daniel, Arcade Fire's Will Butler, Superchunk's Mac McCaughan, Nada Surf's Matthew Caws, and Marshall Crenshaw all participated in a panel called "I Wrote That Song," now in its third year, where they each discussed how they write songs and performed a few of them to show off their skills. As Pitchfork points out, the songs played shook out as follows: Daniel did "Rainy Taxi," Butler performed "Take My Side" and a new, untitled one, McCaughan did "Lost Again," Caws did "Friend Hospital" and "See Those Bones," Crenshaw did "Grab The Next Train" and "Cynical Girl," and Big Star's Jody Stephens -- who wasn't part of the panel, but was in the audience -- hopped on stage to do "Thirteen" and "For You." You can watch the full hour-long panel below.
