My Morning Jacket – “Compound Fracture (Giorgio Moroder & Roman Luth Remix)”

My Morning Jacket tend to come across as festival-rock traditionalists, not as the type of group who hit up successful producers for remixes. But not long after making a video for "Compound Fracture," a song from their new album The Waterfall, they've recruited another famous facial-hair enthusiast to rework the track. That facial-hair enthusiast is Giorgio Moroder, the legendary Italo-disco pioneer. Alongside the German producer Roman Luth, Moroder has turned "Compound Fracture" into a sparkling synth-jam. And it totally works! Jim James should maybe consider singing on a few dance tracks, since his voice has a weightless quality that absolutely works for this sort of beat. Check it out below.
