UK singer Frances worked with Disclosure's Howard Lawrence on her new single, and it shows. The smooth electro-disco backing of "Borrowed Time" accentuates Frances' voice and brings it special emphasis with a syncopated push, much resembling Disclosure's knack for highlighting vocals through electronics. Frances' Let it Out EP is largely piano-driven -- she's an accomplished pianist -- but she slides smoothly into pop-dance territory here. The clock-like pendulum tempo matches the song's overarching question, "Are we in the hands of borrowed time?" Listen below.
