Speaking of covers, I ran into this MP3 of the Kaiser Chiefs covering Marvin Gaye's "I Heard it Through the Grapevine."Not bad, but it definitely won't make the list of all-time "covers that eclipsed the originals." It was recorded live, then podcasted, then edited with an open-source audio editor, then sent via SSH over Wi-Fi to a vinyl pressing plant in Oslo where somebody munged the levels.And then it was encoded without using alt-preset-standard.
Still, if you like the KCs, or any of the other new British bands, you'll like this.Props to So Much Silence for picking it up!
