Oxis – “Fingerling”

I thought a fingerling was a potato. It turns out I wasn't wrong. A fingerling is a potato. There's also a line of robot toys called Fingerlings. They're not toy potatoes. They're monkeys that hold onto your finger. And a fingerling is also a baby fish. That's why Oxis, the electronic producer whose songs are all named after forms of marine life, has a new track called "Fingerling."

Oxis will release the new album Oxis 8 next month, and we've posted the songs "Piranha" and "Guili." "Fingerling" is a short, stuttering electronic pop song about a tentative stage of life. The title makes more sense when you realize that it's a song about childhood. Not potatoes. Can you imagine if Oxis pivoted to potatoes? That would be weird. Hear "Fingerling" below.

Oxis 8 is out 1/16 on Boom Records.
