Morgan Nagler Announces Debut Album I’ve Got Nothing To Lose, And I’m Losing It Feat. King Tuff, Allison Crutchfield, Madi Diaz, Courtney Barnett, & More

Morgan Nagler is everywhere this week. Just the other day, the LA singer-songwriter and Whispertown/Supermoon member performed at Jenny Lewis' wedding to her dog. Today, she's announcing her star-studded solo debut album I've Got Nothing To Lose, And I'm Losing It, which features contributions from a laundry list of indie favorites including Courtney Barnett, Allison Crutchfield, Madi Diaz, King Tuff, Meg Duffy, Harrison Whitford, Bethany Cosentino, Gabe Noel, and Josh Adams. Nagler has written with artists including Phoebe Bridgers, Margo Price, Kim Deal, and Haim, as well as touring with all kinds of famous folks, and it looks like she's ready for her spotlight moment here.

The new LP features last year's singles "Cradle The Pain" and "Orange Wine." It also has today's new release "Grassoline." It's a fine introduction to Nagler's style, where raspy roots-rock and scrappy indie-pop collide. The lyrics are all about how smoking pot gets Nagler through her various crises — "Good old-fashioned grassoline always gets me where I wanna go" — and they're attached to a melody that'll almost certainly get stuck in your head. Those harmonies come courtesy of Madi Diaz, who is a co-writer on this one.
