Jessie Ware – “I Could Get Used To This”

Jessie Ware has returned to us. It's been almost three years since the London diva released her last album, the excellently horny disco reverie That! Feels Good! In the time since then, Ware has appeared on tracks with people like Romy and salute, and now she's ready to introduce some new music of her own. Today, she releases her single "I Could Get Used To This," and it's her introduction to as as-yet-unannounced new album.

If anything, "I Could Get Used To This" leans even harder into the retro feeling of Jessie Ware's last two albums. It's a swirly, theatrical soul-dance track full of lush strings and sighing backup vocals, and it feels a bit like it was written for Broadway in the '70s. Barney Lister and Jon Shave produced the track, and Ware and Shave co-wrote it with Miranda Cooper and Sophia Brenan. Here's Ware's press-release quote:

"I Could Get Used To This" is an invitation into the world of this album. I wanted to set the scene of the world that I’m trying to paint in the album; romance, real love, performance, celebration, and pleasure (always!) in a garden full of gods and goddesses. I wrote this song with Miranda Cooper, Sophia Brenan and Jon Shave, who are legends in British pop music. I’ve always admired Miranda’s work, so I’m incredibly glad to have a record with her. First key change I’ve ever done — I think — and exciting start to you hearing more from my work with Jon Shave and Barney Lister, amongst the other fantastic collaborators on this project.

Fa & Fon directed the "I Could Get Used To This" video, and it's basically a fantastical dance sequence. Check it out below.

"I Could Get Used To This" is out now on Universal.
