The fired-up, hooky Philly emo ragers Sweet Pill are still about a month away from releasing their new album Still There's A Glow, and they've already shared the early tracks "No Control," "Glow," and "Slow Burn." Apparently, this is going to be one of those situations where the band releases a huge chunk of the songs from the album during the album rollout, since they've got another one out today.
"Smoke Screen," the fourth and final single from Still There's A Glow, is a searing, searching jam with hooks that flare up out of nowhere and excellent use of guitar-twinkle. Anytime a newer band gives me Rainer Maria vibes, I'm happy about it. Check out the song's OD Blank-directed video below.
Sweet Pill's Zayna Youssef also appears on a new song from fellow Philly indie band Hit Like A Girl. Their new LP Burning At Both Ends comes out next month, and we posted lead single "Keepsake Theory." Earlier this week, Hit Like A Girl shared "Are You In Love," a cool new single with fuzzy riffs, twinkly synths, and big vocals from bandeader Nicolle Maroulis and special guest Zayna Youssef. Hear it below.
Still There’s A Glow is out 3/13 on Hopeless. Burning At Both Ends is out 3/27 on Cryptid.
