Morgan Nagler – “Hurt”

Christian Stavros

On Friday, the LA-based singer-songwriter Morgan Nagler, of the bands Whispertown and Supermoon, will release her first solo album I've Got Nothing To Lose, And I'm Losing It. We've posted the early tracks "Grassoline" and "Heartbreak City," and the album features contributions from a whole bunch of Nagler's indie peers. Plenty of them helped out on "Hurt," the new song that Nagler shared today.

"Hurt" is not a Nine Inch Nails cover. It's a big, shimmering country-rock jam. Nagler co-wrote the song with Suzy Shinn, and she co-produced it with Kyle Thomas, better known as her future tourmate King Tuff. Thomas sings backup and plays guitar on the song, and Meg Duffy, better known as Hand Habits, plays slide guitar on the outro. Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino, Snocaps' Allison Crutchfield, and Madi Diaz all sing backing vocals. Check it out below.

I've Got Nothing To Lose, And I'm Losing It is out 3/13 on Little Operation Records And More.
