In just a few days, the fired-up Philly pop-punkers Gladie will release No Need To Be Lonely, the new album that they recorded with Jeff Rosenstock on productions. We've already posted the band's three advance singles — "Car Alarm, " "Future Spring," and "Brace Yourself" — and all of them rock hard. Today, Gladie share the new song that gives the album its title.
Like those previous singles, Gladie's new one "I Want That For You" is a big, hearty, melodic ripper. This time, bandleader Augusta Koch, formerly of Cayetana, sings about learning how to be confident while alone and hoping that other people can get there, too. In the band's video, she records the lyrics on cassette for her bandmates, and they use the song as fuel for getting through their days. I like this glimpse at an alternate world where people still listen to tapes. Still the best format! Check it out below.
No Need To Be Lonely is out 3/20 via Get Better Records.
