Two summers ago a bunch of the best artists in the underground contributed music to Just Cause Vol. 1, a compilation benefitting the Palestine Children's Relief Fund. Just Cause Vol. 2 is out today, this time supporting another righteous cause. All proceeds in perpetuity will be directed to the Immigrant Defense Project, an organization devoted to protecting and expanding the rights of all immigrants, with a focus on the intersections of the criminal and immigration systems.
Contributors to the 63-track Just Cause Vol. 2 include Shallowater, Allegra Krieger, Agriculture’s Leah B. Levinson, the Soft Pink Truth, Ben Seretan, Starcleaner Reunion, Brutus VIII, Darlin' (the trio of Wendy Eisenberg, Ryan Sawyer, and Lester St. Louis), Giant Claw, hemlock, KING VISION ULTRA, Lucy Liyou, M. Sage, Mourning [A] BLKstar, Nate Wooley, Okkyung Lee, Tashi Dorji, Scree, Mal Devisa, Photokem, and many more.
Co-organizer Evan Welsh of Bayonet Records offered this statement:
It's humbling to see the incredible range of artists contributing to this album. Many of them are our friends, and the music here spans a wide spectrum of sounds, genres, and approaches. There's something for everyone, and we hope listeners discover new favorites alongside familiar voices.
