Girl Trouble Announce First New Album In 23 Years As Is: Hear “Make It Mine”

The Tacoma garage band Girl Trouble formed way back in 1983, and their earliest releases came out on K Records, including 1988 debut LP Hit It Or Quit It, a co-release with Sub Pop. After four albums for other labels between, they've reunited with K for new album As Is, their first in 23 years. It's a co-release with Wig Out! Records, which put out the last two Girl Trouble albums in 1998 and 2003.

In a press release, K presents some "basic facts" about Girl Trouble, including "Everybody loves Girl Trouble," "No one can resist Girl Trouble," and "Girl Trouble once opened for The Sonics. Nirvana once opened for Girl Trouble." Some observers may also draw a connection between Girl Trouble vocalist K.P. Kendall and K co-founder Calvin Johnson's own monotone bellow.

"Make It Mine," the opening track and lead single from As Is, should go into rotation at your next dimly lit rock 'n' roll dance party. (Put some Cheater Slicks on that playlist too.) Hear "Make It Mine" and see the As Is tracklist below.
