The strange and charismatic London rapper/producer fakemink had a huge breakout in 2025, and he was one of our favorite new artists of the year. This year, fakemink has been all over the place. His album Terrified is apparently on the way, and he released the absorbing EP The Boy who cried Terrified . earlier this year. (I don't understand the way he uses capitalization and punctuation, but maybe that's just not for me to know.) Just ahead of his second Coachella weekend, fakemink is back with a new single.
fakemink did his own production on the new track "Night, Blooming Jasmine .," and it's a smeared, strobing take on deep house. His cadences find the beat's pocket, and he brings a ton of swagger even as he abuses the chirpy chipmunk-voice filter that he loves so much. As with so many fakemink tracks, the end result is hypnotic, even though I don't quite know why. Honestly, I think it's amazing that a rapper who's this weird is getting the new-superstar red-carpet treatment. Check out "Night, Blooming Jasmine ." below.
