Kelela Announces New Album new avatar Feat. PinkPantheress, Fousheé, & A. K. Paul: Hear “linknb”

Pop futurist Kelela made her grand return last month with "idea 1." The song, it turns out, is the opening track and lead single from a new Kelela album dropping this summer, her first since 2023's Raven. Titled new avatar, it boasts guest appearances from PinkPantheress, Fousheé, and A. K. Paul. It also features "linknb," a new single out today.

Like "idea 1," "linknb" is produced by Oscar Scheller, the longtime Stereogum favorite who has been ascendant lately thanks to his work with PinkPantheress. The track is built around a busy Mk.gee-like guitar figure, and it comes with a video by Mischa Notcutt. "It's not hard to be brave/ Easier to give too much away," Kelela sings. "All I know is that I paved the way, underpaid."
