Erykah Badu Sings With George Clinton, Janet Jackson Calls For Peace At 2026 Grammy Hall Of Fame Gala

The Recording Academy and the Grammy Museum held their 2026 Grammy Hall Of Fame Gala at Los Angeles' Beverly Hilton last night. The evening featured Erykah Badu singing with George Clinton, as well as a rare appearance from Janet Jackson.

Recordings inducted this year were:

• Nick Drake’s Pink Moon
• Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814
• Bertha “Chippie” Hill’s "Trouble In Mind"
• Ella Jenkins’ You’ll Sing A Song And I’ll Sing A Song

In her acceptance speech, Jackson said, "When you hear the music of Rhythm Nation, I hope you hear my heart’s desire when we first created this suite of songs. More than ever, my hope is that we might live in a world free of fear and despair."

"The prayer driving this Rhythm Nation remains exactly the same — that peace prevails," she continued. "Peace the world over, peace among our nations, peace in our neighborhoods, peace in our homes. May the music of Rhythm Nation continue to bring us together in peace. And may that peace allow us to celebrate this precious gift of life that God has given us. All praise to God.”

Norah Jones was honored as the Ray Charles Architect Of Sound recipient, while Warner Records received the Visionary Of Music Award. Performances included Taylor Hanson covering Nick Drake’s “Pink Moon"; Lucinda Williams performing her “Can’t Let Go” and “Car Wheels On A Gravel Road”; Isabel Marie singing Selena’s “No Me Queda Más"; Norah Jones playing Ray Charles’ "Seven Spanish Angels" and “Hallelujah I Love Him So"; Heart performing their “Magic Man," “Dreamboat Annie,” and “Crazy On You"; Warner artist Teddy Swims singing his “Mister Know It All” and “Lose Control"; Josh Groban and Take 6 covering Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me"; and Erykah Badu joining George Clinton and Blackbyrd McKnight for Funkadelic’s "Maggot Brain" and “Can You Get To That.” No one covered Radiohead. Watch footage below.
