Cam’ron Settles Lawsuit With J. Cole, Ignores Verzuz Challenge From Jim Jones

Last year, the Harlem rap great turned sports podcaster Cam'ron sued. J. Cole. Cam had appeared on Cole's 2024 track "Ready '24," and he claimed he'd been denied payment. In March, Cole appeared on Cam's Talk With Flee podcast, and they told the story behind that lawsuit. Cole mentioned that he tried to pay Cam, and Cam said that he did the verse for free in exchange for a podcast interview. Cam sued when he couldn't get Cole booked on the show, and he said that he did it to get Cole's attention.

When Cole appeared on Cam'ron's podcast, the two of them seemed to settle any lingering tension that they might've had. But apparently, that personal reconciliation didn't end the court proceedings — not immediately, anyway. Now, Billboard reports that the two sides' legal teams have "reached an agreement in principle" and that they're "finalizing the settlement papers." Terms of the deal haven't been disclosed.

So Cam's got that story behind him, but he's once again got issues with his old Dipset comrade Jim Jones. Over the years, those two have fallen out and made up multiple times. In 2021, the Diplomats faced off against the Lox in a famous New York Verzuz battle, and they got their asses whipped. It wasn't even fair. Jadakiss was in the god zone that night. Nothing was going to stop him, though Dipset didn't put up much resistance.

That battle evidently worsened tensions between Cam and Jimmy, and it led to some lingering ill feelings. The two of them have been sniping at each other online for about a year, and as Hot 97 reports, Jones issued a Verzuz challenge to Cam on Instagram yesterday. In a slightly incoherent post, Jones wrote that Cam "made us lose our last verses" and that he wants the two of them to go one-on-one.

Cam'ron has yet to publicly respond to Jim Jones' challenge. But just imagine it. This would be a slaughter, like Murphy Lee going up against Nelly or something. Jones made a couple of hits without Cam, but they were never even close to equal footing. I can't even picture it.
