"I close my eyes only for a moment, then that moment's gone. All my dreams pass before my eyes with curiosity. Dust in the wind. All they are is dust in the wind." Kerry Livgren of the band Kansas wrote those profound words in 1977, and they have not blown away like dust in the wind. They have remained with us, like dust in a sealed-off room. Today, Chanel Beads shares his new song "Dust In The Wind." It's not a Kansas cover.
Maybe it should've been a Kansas cover. Maybe that would've been lit. I don't know. Regardless, Shane Levers, the experimental pop musician behind Chanel Beads, expresses his own philosophical musings on his "Dust In The Wind": "Let them bring a flood/ Dogs swimming in the street/ Pissing on the porch, baby, people don't change/ They let you feel something, then you let it get away." And all your money won't another minute buy. Shane Lavers co-wrote the track with Strange Ranger's Isaac Eiger, who plays guitar on it. It starts off skeletal before drum loops and tingly synths arrive. It's nice.
"Dust In The Wind" comes from Chanel Beads' forthcoming album Your Day Will Come, which was also the title of the last Chanel Beads album and which would make perfect sense as a lyric in the Kansas song. We already posted the singles "The Coward Forgets His Nightmare" and "Song For The Messenger." Today, Chanel Beads unveils "Dust In The Wind" and announces a North American tour.
