Last month, Yard Act ushered in a new era with the announcement of You're Gonna Need A Little Music, whose lead single "Redeemer" operated as an ominous, existential jam that bleakly stated: "No one is happy with this arrangement." Now, they're pivoting to positivity. Yay! Today's single "New Beginnings" is good, old-fashioned fun.
"'New Beginnings' is a bit of light to counteract the dark we led with," frontman James Smith explains. "Sometimes we've already shed our old skin without even realizing it's happening. Celebrate the new, because you can't go back."
The lyrics instruct you to purge yourself of sin, resist the urge to grin, and spend your winnings on new beginnings. Sure, why not! It's got a real nice groove. Watch the equally celebratory music video below.
