EsDeeKid – “RockWave”

EsDeeKid, the masked Liverpool rapper who turned out to not be Timothée Chalamet in disguise but who did collaborate with Timothée Chalamet, has a new song. His single "RockWave," which he debuted at Rolling Loud last month, is the first thing he's released since he appeared on a terrible Yeat single earlier this year. Thankfully, he still sounds good when he's on his own.

The new single "RockWave" is built on producer Bhristo's murky distorto-guitar beat, and EsDee just raps hard on it. I still like his accent, but the real thing that I like about "RockWave" is that it sounds evil, like early-'00s crunk music. In the Archie Erskine-directed video, EsDee continues to show off the sword and the chainmail from his "Omens" clip, and he also smashes a guitar. Good thing David Crosby didn't live to see this. Watch it below.

"RockWave" is out now on Lizzy Records.
