Velocity Girl Share Previously Unreleased “I Know Exactly What You Mean” From New 1989-1992 Comp

Life comes at you with velocity, girl. How has it already been 30 years since the breakup of Washington, DC indie-pop greats Velocity Girl? The group, which briefly reunited in 2002, has been back in action lately. In 2023, they played their first show in 21 years, then played some more. In 2024, they released a revamped version of their debut album. Now, they've got a new comp coming out.

Due out next month, 1989-1992 covers Velocity Girl's early years, before they signed to Sub Pop. In addition to old favorites, it includes two previously unreleased songs, including "I Know Exactly What You Mean," which hit the internet today. This song jangles and soars with the best of them, and you'd be unwise to skip it below.
