Ziemba Announces New Album The Braid: Hear “The Pleasure Seekers”

1:53 PM EDT on July 29, 2026

Earlier today, THAO announced her first new album in six years, and now Ziemba is doing the same. The Braid follows 2020's True Romantic, and it arrives this fall. René Kladzyk returned with "The Perfect Rose" in March, and now she's sharing the victorious opening track "The Pleasure Seekers" as the second preview.

"The Pleasure Seekers" is inspired by a man at a bar in Montana who told Kladzyk about lessons he learned from a bad acid trip. "At that time, I was struggling with my own tendency toward escapism, excess and addiction," Kladzyk says. "The fantasy that, maybe this is what I was brought here to do, maybe all my excesses have a celestial justification — it held a real allure for me, delusional as it was."

On Instagram, she adds, "To me this song is the sonic version of sprinting through the pouring rain with total abandon, tits out."

The Braid features Andrew Macguire, Don Godwin, Will Segerstrom, Marta Honer, Ben Babbitt, and more. It was written and recorded while she was working full-time as a reporter covering the US immigration system and the Department of Defense. Hear "The Pleasure Seekers" below.
