Springfield, Illinois' Prevention have been cranking out righteous, passionate straight-edge hardcore since 2019. They play fast, in an orthodox old-school youth crew style, but they seem to mean it so much that they never feel like they're just imitating the old bands that they love.
Prevention have a bunch of EPs to their credit, and we've posted past records like their 2024 split with Anklebiter and the two-song single that followed shortly afterward. But they're just now getting around to dropping an album. Prevention's full-length debut, announced earlier this week, is coming just before the end of the month. It's called And Nothing's Mine, and I expect it to be as bracing an energized as lead single "Tell Yourself," a 73-second burst of indignant fury. Check it out below.
