Lindsey Buckingham And Stevie Nicks Are “Talking All The Time Now”

Over the decades, former Fleetwood Mac bandmates Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have shared one of the stormiest relationships in rock 'n' roll history. The fallout from their various misadventures was enough to drive an all-time classic album like Rumours, and it didn't stop there. After a great many breakups and reunions over the years, Fleetwood Mac finally fired Buckingham in 2018. Later on, Nicks said it was her decision. But now, Buckingham and Nicks are apparently quite cordial — according to Buckingham, anyway.

Buckingham and Nicks recently reissued Buckingham Nicks, the album that the two of them made in 1973, before joining Fleetwood Mac, and Buckingham took the opportunity to tease a reunion a couple of times. Earlier this year, Buckingham poo-poo'ed the viral "Silver Springs" performance video where Nicks fixes him with a death stare. Now, the remaining Fleetwood Mac members are working on an Apple TV+ documentary that's due next year, and Buckingham says it's brought them all closer together.

Yesterday, Buckingham told E! News that work on the documentary "has been a very circular healing process for all of us." On his ejection from the band, Buckingham said, "No one was happy about it, and all of that has been healed and worked out... Stevie and I are talking all the time now."

Buckingham didn't rule out another reunion. Instead, he did a bit more cryptic teasing: "Next year should be a pretty interesting year because I think quite a few things will reveal themselves."

In 2024, Nicks claimed that Fleetwood Mac ended with her bandmate Christine McVie death two years earlier and that she spoke to Buckingham "for about three minutes" at a memorial to McVie: "I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances." Maybe it's about to be 300 million and one.

Buckingham’s Nicks comments were made at Variety’s Power Of Young Hollywood, where he presented Sombr with Songwriter Of The Year and didn’t rule out a collaboration with the pop star.
