You know that scene from Trainspotting where Ewan MacGregor's Renton finds himself at a dance club, getting his mind blown by a techno anthem and considering the idea that maybe the world can change in good ways? "One thousand years from now, there'll be no guys and girls, just wankers. Sounds great to me." That's how I feel when I hit play on "Rolling Face," the dizzily booming new single from the Leeds dance-punk crew Adult DVD.
Adult DVD's self-titled debut comes out next month, and it's shaping up nicely. We've already posted the early singles "Real Tree Lee" and "Cowboy On Aisle Three." "Rolling Face," their latest, combines the drawling post-punk vocal thing with sugar-rush hardcore rave keyboard action, a truly heady blend. Singer Harry Hanson talks about it like this: "A job in a suit can only get you so far, which is what the character from 'Rolling Face' soon realizes. He's at the deep end of a pretty ugly night out, which ends in him losing his mind and money." Sounds great to me. Listen below.
