The young Brooklyn-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kali Priya Flanagan used to make music under the name KALI, and he's he's a member of the emo band Holidays In United States and also makes his own stuff as Superfan. We already posted the early Superfan singles "Apeiron (Fantasy Football)" and "Picture Of Return." Yesterday, Superfan announced plans to release his debut album My Piledriver Heart this fall.
Superfan mostly recorded My Piledriver Heart live with cellist Omeed Almassi and producer Hudson Pollock, and the brand-new album opener "In The Gold Room" is a cool piece of idiosyncratic noise-folk. In addition to the studio version, he's also got a Garrett Winston-directed live video that was shot inside the Agger Fish Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
