Duane “Keffe D” Davis has been convicted of the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur. The 63-year-old former South Side Compton Crips leader was arrested in 2023 and charged with orchestrating the drive-by shooting of the legendary rapper.
Prosecutors argued that he planned the attack after his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, was beaten by Shakur’s entourage shortly before the shooting. Their case leaned on Davis’ own 2019 memoir detailing his role in the killing.
The Las Vegas jury deliberated for about three hours before reaching a guilty verdict today. Davis faces a possible maximum sentence of life in prison, and the sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 13.
