Gift Horse Become A Trio With Ryley Walker, Announce New Album A Career In Architecture

3:40 PM EDT on September 9, 2026

Renowned shredder Ryley Walker has joined electronic band Gift Horse, transforming the duo of Jonathan Schenke (of the since-disbanded P.E.) and Fine Place's Matthew Hord into a trio. Today, they're announcing their new album A Career In Architecture and releasing the hypnotic lead single "Rebar Redux."

"Every performance is unique, from the earlier iterations around the first cassette into more expansive versions with Ryley, often stretching beyond the 10-minute mark," Schenke told Flood. "For this recording, we tracked the song live in the studio to capture that unrestrained dynamic."

Schenke produced, mixed, and mastered A Career In Architecture at Brooklyn's Studio Windows. He added about the accompanying "Rebar Redux" music video, "We decided to take a similar approach with the video. Director Rebecca Shenfeld filmed a live take with a 360 camera, editing and effecting the footage to match the intensity of the song." Watch below.
