Eric Church – “On The Road”

11:09 AM EDT on September 10, 2026

Sometimes, you just need to sing about how you've seen a million faces and rocked them all. Nashville battleship Eric Church is one of our most restless and exploratory mainstream country stars, as he showed on last year's Evangeline Vs. The Machine. But Church really excels at big, hearty old-school Southern rock songs, and his new single "On The Road" is one of those.

Church wrote "On The Road" himself and recorded it with his regular producer Jay Joyce. It's a fun, mythic description of life as a major country star: "I’ve led fifty thousand happy people/ Singin’ Southern songs to the Northern Lights/ I’ve the amber rocks in Colorado/ I still keep those faces and valleys in my eyes." Hell yeah. One of Church's biggest hits is called "Springsteen," and he really goes hard on those E Street Band pianos in this one. I bet it'll sound fantastic live. Listen below.

"On The Road" is out now on MCA Nashville.
