Calla Announce First New Album In 19 Years De Facto: Hear “Paralyzed”

1:16 PM EDT on September 15, 2026

Calla are back. In 2024, the NYC indie rockers shared "Pick Your Battles," their first music since their 2007 LP Strength In Numbers. Since then, they've put out a bunch of songs: "Killer On The Rampage," "Sinnerman," "Ritualized," and "Your Worst Enemy." Now, they're announcing their long-awaited sixth studio album De Facto. The news comes alongside the release of a new single called "Paralyzed."

"'Paralyzed' is a reimagined recording of 'Stand Paralyzed,' originally released on our 2007 album Strength In Numbers on Beggars Group," Aurelio Valle explains. "At the time, we were touring heavily and racing to finish the record, so while we're proud of it, some songs never felt completely finished. This was always one of our favorites. I was originally trying to write a Lou Reed-style song, and although we loved its stripped-down approach, we always felt there was more we could do with it. We approached 'Paralyzed' almost like a cover version or a remix of our own song. Revisiting it now felt less like remaking something and more like picking up where we left off."

Check out the song below.
