Stream Aluminium Songs

Someone finally had the balls to re-envision The White Stripes in pomo classical, and now you can get your first taste. Hit Alumiiinium.com to stream five songs from the project comprising avant garde orchestral reinterprations of Jack White tunes and titled "Aluminium" (note the extra "i," 'cause it's "going to be an album of English reinterpretations of great American songs written by a great American songwriter").

While you're there, you can play with artwork and learn fun facts about aluminum (the metal)! Like, did you know that "The first item eve cast in aluminium was a baby rattle made for the son of Napoleon III"? That's "impress the 'rents" material when you're Reynolds wrapping Thanksgiving turkey. Just ell 'em Jack White taught ya. And if that's not enough to justify White to papa, how about Jack joining Mick on "Loving Cup" at the Beacon in NYC last night? Phish used to cover that to the hippies delight, but a Jack and Mick take is untouchable.

Aluminum is available exclusively throught the Alumiiinium site and will be available in a limited run of 3,333 CDs and 999 vinyl LPs, set for preorder 11/6 on XL.
