The ‘Gum Bowl: Meet The Bowlers

Les Savy Fav are something of a musical institution these days in Brooklyn. The band’s manic blend of art rock and punk is topped only by their live shows, during which singer Tim Harrington is an endlessly entertaining frontman. His spontaneous antics verge on comedy and performance art, though he never loses track of his songs. Tim will climb your rafters, hold a beer bottle like a phallus and pour it in your mouth, play characters and come out in costume only to strip to his altogether too-tight underwear. He has a beard.

On Tuesday 5/25/10, Stereogum and Videogum present a free concert by Woods, Effi Briest, and DJ St. Vincent. Beforehand, we'll combine our loves of charity, bowling, music, and comedy with the first inaugural 'Gum Bowl tournament. Four teams of five indie rockers and comedians will battle it out on Brooklyn Bowl's alleys, and a donation will be made in name of Woods and the winning bowling team to Adirondack Council, because another thing we love is The Planet Earth.
