Bronx musician Gordon Voidwell's rumbling analog funk, combined with his elastic voice sounds instantly familiar and instantly likable: Think Cameo, right down to the itchy "Yeeows!" at the end of his phrases. The BRAHMS remix doesn't have the stumbling groove of the original. Theirs goes for a prettier space, with light, flute and string-like synths replacing the bottom end.
