Kanye likes to use the VMAs to make grand statements, both planned (the debuts of "Love Lockdown" and "Runaway") and unplanned (that whole Taylor Swift thing). This year, he'll do at least one of those. Along with the similarly moment-grabbing Lady Gaga, who has a new album-cycle to launch, Kanye is one of only two announced performers at this year's VMAs, which will happen 8/25 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. We already know that he'll perform "Black Skinhead," but we don't know how he'll push the performance into the stratosphere. I, for one, am excited to see.
