Slipknot Reportedly Fire Sid Wilson After 28 Years

8:59 AM EDT on August 1, 2026

In recent years, Slipknot has seen departures from original percussionist Chris Fehn, original keyboardist Craig Jones, and longtime drummer Jay Weinberg. Now, the metal group's original DJ, Sid Wilson, has reportedly been fired after 28 years.

TMZ reported that Wilson — who, in 2024, was hospitalized for serious burns following a bonfire explosion on his Iowa farm — was informed late Friday afternoon (July 31) that he'd been permanently kicked out. No reason was offered in the report, and neither Wilson nor Slipknot has commented. Outside of Slipknot, the turntablist has performed with his own band SID and solo as DJ Starscream. He also runs a rap label, Vomit Face Records.

Slipknot's last live show was at Inkcarceration 2025. Earlier that month, they played the Back To The Beginning festival, where Wilson proposed to Kelly Osborne in front of her dad Ozzy, just a few weeks before the rock icon passed away. Wilson and Kelly Osbourne have a son together, but they broke up and called off their engagement this past March.
