Mitski announced her new album Nothing's About To Happen To Me a few weeks back with the release of lead single "Where's My Phone?" The new LP's release date is coming up quickly, so she's got another new track on deck today along with dates for a global tour.
Nothing's About To Happen To Me is a narrative album centered on a reclusive woman who only feels fully free within her own unkempt house. "Where's My Phone?" gave us a whiff of that character's mania, but new single "I'll Change For You" calms down from the prior track's frenetic pace. It's a gracefully resigned ballad that shows off Mitski's vocal prowess, that peerless ability to sound refined and overwhelmed all at once.
As for the tour, it'll see her partially taking the Harry Styles route, settling down in major markets for multi-show runs rather than jumping from city to city ever night. There will be a six-night run in New York, five nights in LA, and four at the Sydney Opera House. She does have some standalone dates set for Mexico, Europe, and Asia, though. Various gigs feature support from Sex Week, Gustaf, La Zorra Zapata, Haley Heynderickx, Maria
Somerville, Tarta Relena, or Gwenifer Raymond.
