Last year, Foxing announced an indefinite hiatus and played their goodbye show. Last month, frontman Conor Murphy revived his old solo side project Smidley and announced the new album Murphy Horse. Lucy Dacus appeared on lead single "Capstone," and now Murphy's got another new song.
"Love In Every Direction," Conor Murphy's latest Smidley single, has some real intense '00s indie rock vibes going for it. The snakey guitar line, the percussive backbeat, and the passionately wailed vocal are giving me serious Local Natives/Yeasayer flashbacks. I'm not mad at it! Murphy co-directed the video with Wil McCarthy, and you can check it out below.
Also, Murphy recently joined Lucy Dacus onstage.
