LA-based singer-songwriter and Whispertown/Supermoon member Morgan Nagler will release her solo debut I've Got Nothing To Lose, And I'm Losing It next month. It'll feature contributions from people like Courtney Barnett, Allison Crutchfield, and Madi Diaz. King Tuff is on the record, too, and Nagler will tour with him this spring. Nagler has already shared the singles "Cradle The Pain," "Orange Wine," and "Grassoline." Today, she's got a new one called "Heartbreak City."
"Heartbreak City" is the closing track from I've Got Nothing To Lose, And I'm Losing It. It's a bruised, ragged acoustic song about trying to move through life after a devastating breakup. In a press release, Nagler says:
Although the entire song is mostly metaphor, the meaning is painfully obvious. In the present moment, I can’t help but assign new meaning to this song as I stand with Minneapolis and every single heartbroken city right now in America as we witness and collectively experience the grief and total outrage of the shockingly inhumane, cold blooded, fascist, racist, murderous oppression. And for every other heartbroken city experiencing war, starvation, and endless horror on this planet, my great hope is for the pendulum to swing in the exact opposite direction. And I know in my heart it is possible.
