Eternally filthy Seattle punks Filth Is Eternal will release their new album Impossible World next month, and asses will be kicked. The band recorded it with heavy-music specialist Taylor Young, and it's got contributions from people like Blood Brothers' Johnny Whitney and Fall Out Boy's Joe Trohman. We've already posted lead single "Stay Melted," and single number two arrives today.
Filth Is Eternal's new song "Long Way" is about the distance to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll. No. Just kidding. It's not about that. It's about consumerism and how you're always a "long way from nothin'." That's a rich subject, but I'd really like to hear a song about how much distance you must traverse to reach the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll. Someone should really write one of those. Anyway.
The first two singles suggest that Filth Is Eternal are moving in a hookier, more melodic direction on Impossible World, though there's still plenty of scuzz on both tracks. "Long Way" has backup vocals from Lauren Lavin, which gives it that much more lift. Watch the song's Che Hise-Gattone-directed video below.
Impossible World is out 3/17 on MNRK Heavy.
