Mile End Kicks, the Canadian indie rock rom-com starring Euphoria's Barbie Ferreira, arrives this Friday. The trailer was set to MGMT's "Time To Pretend," and now they had Avril Lavigne cover Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill hit "Ironic" for the soundtrack.
On Instagram, the film's official account wrote, "From one Canadian icon to another…. may we introduce: Avril Lavigne's cover of 'Ironic' by Alanis Morissette!" The singers are both from Ontario, but only the pop-punk princess has been appointed to the Order of Canada. In 2005, Lavigne joined Morissette for a live duet of "Ironic" at the House Of Blues in Los Angeles.
Morissette performed the classic on Everybody's Live With John Mulaney last year. Hear Lavigne's version below.
