If you'll allow me to channel the spirit of David Letterman for a moment: Bladee, "Blondie." "Blondie," Bladee. (Yes, I am choosing to pronounce Bladee as "Bladey," not as "Blade," even though Blade is the correct pronunciation. He will always be Bladey to me, and if he didn't want people to call him Bladey he should have spelled his name differently.)
The genre-blurring Scandinavian cult star Bladee has revealed that he has a new album called Sulfur Surfer dropping this coming Wednesday. It's the official follow-up to 2024's Cold Visions, though in the interim he's dropped the EP Ste The Beautiful Martyr 1st Attempt, re-teamed with Psykos partner Yung Lean on the Evil World EP, and released a flurry of standlone tracks and features.
"Blondie," the lead single from Sulfur Surfer, is a slow and ceremonious showcase for Bladee's blend of hip-hop, alt-rock, electronic pop, and more. Watch director Joe Ward's video for the track below.
Sulfur Surfer is out 5/20 on Trash Island.
