It was only a year ago when Sabrina Teitelbaum released her previous Blondshell album If You Asked For A Picture. A few months after its release, she shared an expanded edition featuring contributions from artists like Conor Oberst, Samia, John Clacier, and more. What if I told you a new Blondshell album is already coming? We don't know what it's called yet, nor do we know its release date, but we do have a preview of it with today's new single "Heart Has To Work So Hard."
Teitelbaum teased "Heart Has To Work So Hard" at Coachella last month, and it's a brooding, grunge-inspired song about a platonic relationship on the fritz: "I tell you how I feel and you’d think I told a joke/ I’m screaming in your face that I hate you," she sings. She adds in a press release:
This song is really about friendship and betrayal, getting stuck in a dynamic and letting things fester. It’s about pain and confusion — no one trains you for the ups and downs of a friendship between two women — but it’s also about a love so enduring that you find compassion no matter what.
