Katy Perry & Chief Keef Squash Beef, Drop “Legendary Lovers” Remix

Hey, remember when Katy Perry and Chief Keef had beef with each other? No? You have no memory of such a thing ever occurring, or any frame of reference on how such a thing might occur? Well, it did. Sort of. "Beef" is probably too strong a word, but these two very different stars did briefly seem slightly aggravated with one another in a very, very different historical moment.

Back in 2013, the teenage Chief Keef was really just breaking through to larger audiences, and Katy Perry was vaguely appalled when she heard his 50 Cent/Wiz Khalifa collab "Hate Being Sober" on the radio. She tweeted, "Just heard a new song on the radio called 'I hate being sober' I now have serious doubt for the world." As Complex reported, Chief Keef responded the way a Chicago drill star might respond, tweeting, "Dat bitch Katy Perry Can Suck Skin Off Of my Dick" and "Ill Smack The Sh*t out her." He also said he had a new song called "Katy Perry" on the way, but that song never came out.

The feud did not last long. Katy Perry must've realized that she wasn't dealing with another Taylor Swift situation, and she didn't want to escalate things. Instead, as Complex reported, she tweeted, "Mr. Keef! I'm sorry if I offended you. I heard a lot of people guesting on the song & didn't even know it was you in particular." She went on to post, "I'm a fan of your 'Don't Like' video tbh. I was really just having a general opinion on our generations desire to be constantly intoxicated." Sosa responded, "Oh Im Sorry Too Then."

For more than a decade, that was the only public interaction between Katy Perry and Chief Keef. Earlier this week, however, Perry posted a TikTok video in which she was "attempting to summon Mr. Keef," soundtracked by what sure sounded like a new Keef-assisted remix of "Legendary Lovers," a 2013 track that's had a bit of a Tiktok revival. Last night, Perry posted a bunch of photos and videos of her meeting Keef and trying on his Glo Gang merch. Today, she shared that "Legendary Lovers" remix, and I have to say that Chief Keef doesn't really sound that comfortable on her turf. She should return the favor and jump on a "Faneto" remix. Below, check out the "Legendary Lovers" remix and the strange sight of this "legendary link up."

What the world really needs to know now is: Has Chief Keef met Justin Trudeau? And if so, what was that conversation like?
