Jane Remover doesn't get tired. That's the only explanation. The experimental pop auteur maintains a crazy schedule — touring, playing festivals, and cranking out new music under tons of different alter-egos. Earlier this year, Jane Remover posted the SoundCloud tracks "Headbanger" and "Conversion 2," and she also released music under the names Leroy and Venturing. Today, we get the first proper Jane Remover single in a while.
Jane Remover's new track "Beauty Sleep" careens all over the musical landscape. Parts of it are sweetly melodic, even vulnerable, even if you can feel various digital effects warping the track in different directions. Other parts sound like Squarepusher remixing Brokencyde, and I somehow mean that as a compliment. It's a dizzy, overwhelming piece of music. Jane Remover starts out the Brendon Burton-directed video as a glamorous alien in a laboratory tube before breaking out and taking a motorcycle to the beach. Check it out below.
