Prolific country-rock megastar Zach Bryan loves to drop a new track without warning or context. Sometimes, that music never even appears on streaming services. Sometimes, it's just a video of him playing an unreleased song acoustic. Since his self-produced records are so resolutely lo-fi, there's often little difference between that audio and the stuff that he puts on his records.
Back in January, Bryan released his 24-song album With Heaven On Top, as well as a fully solo-acoustic version of the same record. Just a few days later, he shared a new song called "Pocket Change." Now, he's back with another video where he plays another new song. Today, Bryan shared a clip where he and a bandmate playing a song called "Breakfast In Bed" in a dark room, with light coming in from the drawn blinds.
"Breakfast In Bed" is Zach Bryan in stark and soulful mode, and that's a place where he's always comfortable. Over a pretty acoustic guitar figure, Bryan addresses some guy whose life seems to be falling apart: "You ain’t a sickness, you ain’t a disease/ Does praying to your God make you hot in the cheeks?... You ain’t half the man that you are in your head." Check it out below.
Bryan is currently on tour in Europe, and he plays the Liverpool stadium Anfield tonight.
