Joe Rogan: “What Is Turnstile?”

4:29 PM EDT on August 17, 2026

Joe Rogan has discovered Turnstile. The podcaster has somehow made it through the past few years without hearing about the biggest hardcore band in the world, but he finally learned about them during the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.

Rogan was joined by Shane Gillis, Mark Normand, and Ari Shaffir, who was wearing a Last Dinner Party shirt. They were discussing PSY of "Gangnam Style" fame when Gillis clocked Shaffir shoehorning a Turnstile mention into their conversation. Gillis insisted he was a fan of Turnstile's old stuff, name-dropping "Generator" from 2018's Time & Space, but everyone knows that's not really the old stuff, what about "Keep It Moving" from 2013's Step 2 Rhythm EP or "Fazed Out" from 2016's Nonstop Feeling? Then we'll talk.

Anyway, Rogan did not seem interested. After hearing that the band was hardcore, he asked if they were "cumcore," and that was about all he had to say on the matter. They put on the combined "Seein' Stars" and "Birds" music video, which prompted Normand to say the world was healing. Rogan did not seem to agree. Watch the clip below along with the full podcast episode, if you really want to do that. It's four and a half hours and the Turnstile talk starts about 2 hours and 8 minutes in.
