The Delta Mirror – “A Song About The End”

Craig Gordon, vocalist and etc. for L.A. BTW the Delta Mirror, sports an Elliott Smith Figure 8 tattoo on one of his arms and his band's Hospice-like debut full-length Machines That Listen includes a song called "He Was Worse Than The Needle He Gave." While you don't really get much of a Smith sound, it is safe to assume the trio isn't very chipper. What you might not have assumed, though, is that Gordon and bandmate David Bolt started out as a hip-hop duo in the early '90s. You can sorta catch a whiff of it in the production. See, for instance, album closer "A Song About The End."
