Chvrches – “Addicted To Love” (Robert Palmer Cover)

Synth-pop trio Chvrches covered Robert Palmer's lustful classic "Addicted To Love" for the Hulu drama Tell Me Lies. Chvrches' rendition, out today, is less jazz-rock and more melodramatic ballad pop. A serious piano greets us along with Lauren Mayberry's concerned vocals. In fact, it sounds like she's narrating a horror scene when she sings, "You mind is not your own/ Your heart sweats, your body shakes."

The release is also a nice reminder that we're due soon for new music from Chvrches. “We were in the studio working on the new CHVRCHES album when we got the call and it was a really fun thing to get our teeth stuck into, finding the right balance of emotions - heartfelt, yet unhinged - to mirror what the show is so good at," Mayberry said in a statement.

As for old Chvrches music, Mayberry popped onstage with Halsey at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom Wednesday night to perform "The Mother We Share," the opener from the band's 2013 debut album The Bones Of What You Believe.
